Rebecca Cottrell is a 22-year-old graphic designer, living and working in Brighton, UK.

I graduated in BA Design for Graphic Communication from Reading University in July 2007. In September I moved to Brighton, where I now work for Future Platforms as a mobile interaction designer.

Design Idea is focused on “design” in the loosest sense of the word (but is there a definitive definition?). The blog looks at modern business, culture, and social media, from the context and perspective of a 22-year-old designer. My aim is to keep up with technological changes and the trends in the web. In addition to looking at these trends and changes, I’m looking at how people are using the internet to connect with each other. As a mobile designer, I’m interested in the social influence of mobile phones and what’s next for the mobile web.

My other loves are language, literature, art, and food, which will no doubt find their way into my blog.
